Campaign Suggestions

Below you will find some example campaigns that can be run using Norbit. These are based on attracting customers and engaging customers and with marketing objectives in mind.

GENERAL ACTIVITY TO HELP PROMOTE TO APP USERS

When creating campaigns, it’s important to promote through the app to current users, and also attract new users through your other advertising channels (social media, in-store print advertising, press advertising etc).

Communicating with current app users

  1. Use the push messaging feature to alert users of new prizes/deals and competition

  2. Create Email Marketing lists by exporting app user data from the CMS. Send regular (weekly) emails that promote new deals/prizes and competitions

  3. Other advertising channels. Use traditional advertising to make customers aware of the app, and reinforce their use of the app. This can include in centre advertising, and posting regularly on your social channels about the offers/prizes/competitions you have in your app.

Communicating with yet-to-be app users

  1. Promote the app in-store through printed media. Update your promotional artwork templates to always include a CTA to download your centre app.

  2. Promote the app to your exisiting Email Marketing lists by segmenting emails that aren't registered to your app. The message should be tailored to the reasons to use your app and include a CTA to download your app in all email communications.

  3. Other advertising channels. Use traditional advertising to make customers aware of the app, and reinforce their use of the app. Post regularly on your social channels about app only promotions. Include links to both the app stores in posts.

SCRATCH & WIN - INSTANT GRATIFICATION + DRIVE SPENDING

Scratch & Win campaigns are perfect for attracting users, and getting them to start the habit of scanning for points when they make a purchase. Add 1 or more major prizes, and complement these with smaller prizes, such as a free coffee.

Steps for marketing managers.

  1. Choose desirable prizes to giveaway. Offer the prize at selected stores, categories (such as 'fashion') or at all stores.

  2. Set up the competition in the app CMS, and assign probabilities of winning (major prizes have a lesser chance to be won, minor prizes have a higher probability.

  3. Promote the competition in-store and on your social channels. Users will receive a scratch card each time they shop and scan.

Campaigns to recover points

The below tactics have been successful in taking points back from the community. When your program has many customers saving many points, you can use these campaigns to reduce the points in the system without giving away many prizes.

ENTER TO WIN COMPETITION - POINTS TO ENTER + UNLIMITED ENTRIES

Customers love the chance to win. Setting up a competition that’s available to all app users and requiring them to use points to enter can help bring points balances down. It relies on a very attractive prize (EG Tickets to concerts, or high value items such as $250+ dollar value, or access to exclusive sales events.

Steps for marketing managers.

  1. Choose a desirable prize/voucher to giveaway that will excite customers and dates.

  2. Set up the competition in the app CMS. Select points needed, and select unlimited entries

  3. Promote the competition in-store and on your social channels. The competition should be the key message, with the app download the mechanism of entry.

  3. They are incentivised to spend more to collect more points, in order to get more entries.

EXCLUSIVE, HIGH VALUE DEALS

We recommend that most deals in the app should be free to use. Exclusive, high value deals can have points assigned to them, for example 50% off or more vouchers that are only offered through the app can have a points requirement to use them.

Steps for marketing managers.

  1. Choose a desirable discount to offer

  2. Set up the deal in the app CMS. Select points needed.

  3. Promote the exclusive deal in-store and on your social channels. The deal should be the key message, with the app download the mechanism to unlock the deal.

An example.

50% off all sale items!
Available to all app customers.

Don’t have the app? Download it now!

Steps for the customers.

  1. If users don’t have the app, they download the app and login.

  2. They go to the deals tab, click redeem. The points are removed from their balance. They complete the purchase as normal.
